Neuwied Mennonite Church building

This photo is of the building that once housed the Neuwied Mennonite Church. In 1786 Count Alexander ordered the Mennonites of Neuwied to construct a suitable church near his castle grounds. The building was built with an adjoining residence for the needy (see: The Mennonite Encyclopedia, vol. III, under "Neuwied"). The building was also used by MCC during their post-WWII work in Germany; Rev. Schwarzen-Truber of MCC stands in front of the building.
