Used in the CM 5-31-4. Arthur Wiens, farmer & minister in Herschel, Sask. (also pres. of the Canadian MYO) pulls the switch to start water flowing from the Eagle Valley spring, an asset to the Herschel community.

The Meilun Mennonite Church building, seen from the north side. The Chinese characters say: "Believe in Jesus there is peace." The stamp on the back states it is from the General Conference Mennonite Church News Service in Newton, Kansas. The photo is dated Nov. 30, 1967 but was likely taken by Frank H. Epp on his Asian tour in 1966. See also 2010-14.370 for a baptism held at this church.
As in many Asian communities, supermarkets are the open street. The shelves are the street surface, boxes and baskets. Here missionary nurse Helen Willms is the prospective customer.
