Personal papers of a radio evangelist and missionary affiliated with the (old) Mennonite Church.  Hostsetter's papers include sermons (circa 1970 - 1997), records of sermons preached and speaking engagements, documents pertaining to the Church of the Lord (Aladura) in Nigeria, photographs, and personal, professional, and pastoral correspondence.

Personal papers of B. Frank and Esther Johnson Stoltzfus, who served as missionaries, educators, and administrators at multiple American colleges in Bulgaria, Lebanon, and Turkey from 1924 to 1960. Materials consist of diaries, correspondence, teaching records, writings, and family photographs. Of particular interest are a series of 1947 dispatches written to Floyd H. Black, President of the Sofia American College, which document Stoltzfus’s experiences in and impressions of Bulgaria during the early years of the country’s communist regime.

Assorted papers associated with Fannie Baumgartner Kauffman's (1867-1936) parents, Johannes (John) Baumgartner (1823-1904, emigrated from Alsace in 1856) and Verena (Fannie) Amstutz Baumgartner (1829-1873, emigrated from Alsace circa 1855).  These include manuscripts of song lyrics, genealogical information, church letters, copy books, an account book / weather diary, and correspondence.  The collection also contains a few items created by Fannie Baumgartner Kauffman and her husband, Henry M. Kauffman, including handwritten prayers, ephemera, and correspondence.  Typewritten transcriptions are available for many of the German handwritten documents.

A small set of family papers consisting primarily of correspondence from Benjamin Byler Stoltzfus (a farmer in West Liberty, Ohio and preacher at the Lima Rescue Mission of the (old) Mennonite Church) and his children B. Frank Stoltzfus (documenting his studies at Goshen College and his Mennonite Central Committee service in Constantinople, Turkey in 1917), Will A. Stoltzfus (including letters from New York Biblical Seminary and Beiruit, Lebanon, where he engaged in education and mission work in 1920-1921), Lena Stoltzfus, and Eli Stoltzfus.  Also includes poetry written by his daughter Rosie Stoltzfus Byler.

Correspondence, photographs, and miscellaneous materials associated with Blanche Sell's 35 years of missionary service in India with the Mennonite Board of Missions.  While outgoing correspondence relating the daily work and spiritual life of Mennonite missionaries in Dhamtari will be of most interest to researchers, this collection also holds substantial incoming correspondence from Sell's mother, Elizabeth Sell, and sister, Doris Shenk.  Most of the photographs are snapshots with fair to excellent captioning.  They include images of Indian spiritual and medical leaders, including P. J. Malagar and Dr. Martin.  Miscellaneous materials include a Mennonite Board of Missions India calendar (1952), texts of missionary messages Sell delivered to various Mennonite congregations in the 1980s, and autograph books.

These papers consist primarily of incoming professional, pastoral, and personal correspondence.  Of particular note are the two folders of incoming and outgoing correspondence between basketball coach Bobby Knight and Bob Detweiler (1971-1987).  Additional materials in the collection include sermon notes and outlines and dairies from Detweiler's college and seminary years.

Brubacher Family Correspondence

Six letters in German script from members of the Brubacher family residing in Ontario and Pennsylvania.  Correspondents include Johannes and Susanna Brubacher, Jacob and Maria Brubacher, and Heinrich Brubacher.  ALl of the letters have either been transcribed or translated.  Among the letters are also several photocopied German hymns with translations into English.

Twelve letters written by C. B. Steiner to his brother, Adam Steiner, of Morrison, Illinois.  C. B. Steiner, writing first from Orrville, Ohio, and later from Salem, Oregon, discusses the health of members of his congregation, his decision and preparations to begin pastoring in Oregon, and the state of his and his neighbors' farms and crops.  Letters are in German with English translations.
