This fonds consists of two ledger books recording income, expenses, payroll starting on October 6, 1911. The diary portion begins on the same day and usually makes brief mention of weather, farm activities and travel. The second ledger continues the pattern of the first however some diary portions are more detailed with information on the political unrest and lists of people who were murdered.
In addition to giving a firsthand account of everyday life before and during the Russian Revolution, it is the only known record that documents the operation of the Kuruschan Altenheim.
This fonds consist of the materials which Tony Enns acquired as a participant with the Friends of Plautdietsch scriptures. They include e-mail and in-person consultations about the orthography to use in the revision and translation of the scriptures for Low German Mennonites. There are also reports, sample translations, budgets, signed agreements and a few newspaper clippings.
This fonds contains correspondence, concert pamphlets, newspaper and magazine articles and reviews from Wiebe’s music career, seven audio and visual recordings on CD’s, four music books, and other materials.
This fonds consists of sermons preached by Groening 1938-2010, cassette tapes of church services where he preached that cover 3 years when he was the pastor at Eden Mennonite Church, and a record of marriages and funerals he officiated at. Groening was an exceptionally organized person. The vast sermon collection of some 3800 sermons with an index covers a wide time frame and geography. With his donation of sermons are 83 cassette tapes recording the church services at the Eden Mennonite Church in Chilliwack, BC while he was pastor. Some of the tapes have lines drawn in pen on the cassettes showing where his sermon begins.
This fonds consists of correspondence (1915-1942), letters of Nickolas Wiens and others (1887), an account book from the family estate in Russia covering 1889-1917 (most likely created by George N. Rempel's father), miscellaneous documents and information realted to the Taschtschenak and Brosdsky etstaes owned by Martens and Schroeder. This includes a plan lay-out of the Martens estate. Some of the correspondence has been transcribed into Latin letters. The transcriptions have the identification number corresponding to the copy of the original in the upper right hand side.
This fonds the three diaries and thirty three photographs covering the time Neufeld spent working with MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) in England, France, and Germany. The diaries record what Neufeld did but also his thoughts and feelings as he worked in war torn Europe.
This fonds consists of letters written to Gerhard Doerksen, written in Manitoba and in Kansas, a journal and accounting book, and a biography of Bishop Cornelius Regehr.
This fonds consists primarily of material related to the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society including correspondence, reports and minutes (1958-1981). Much of this material concerns the 1974 Centennial celebrations for the anniversary of Mennonites arriving in Manitoba. Other significant materials include minutes of the Radio Committee of the Conference of Mennonites in Manitoba (1956-1963) and records of the Mennonite Collegiate Graduate Society (1954-1950). In addition there are several single documents acquired by Ens which are related to Mennonite history. Finally, the collection includes audio reels of Ens' Low German radio program, which include talks on Mennonite history, travel reports, interviews, music and literature.
This collection is categorized into four series, reflecting different aspects of Rev. G.G. Neufeld's involvement as a minister at the Whitewater Mennonite church.
