The Agora Church formed a special missions committee in 2008 under the leadership of Kate Dewhurst, that developed a relationship with a fledgling Christian school in Buwate, Uganda, called “Hope of Good Future Primary School.” Dr. Walter F. Schlech acted as the correspondent and agent between the church and their contacts, Elliot and Sarah, in Uganda. These photographs come from this mission relationship.
The St. Petersburg microfilming project grew out of the discovery of a rich collection of documents relating to Mennonites for the period 1789 to 1917 which were housed in the Russian State Historical Archives in St. Petersburg. These documents relate to the Russian Senate and later the Duma.
This collection contains photos taken in: a) Northern Manitoba while teaching in First Nation Communities, 1954-1958 (items 1 to 164) b) the Soviet Union, 1976-1996 (items 165-281)
