This is a photo of residents of Platanares surveying damage to a house caused by a December counterrevolutionary guerrilla attack on the town, which left eight dead, four wounded and two kidnapped. MCC provided roofing materials to families in this town who had been displaced by war against Nicaragua.

Tent city for 750 Cuban refugees (U. S. Programs)
This is a photo of a tent city for 750 Cuban refugees under the I-95 freeway near the centre of Miami. The refugees had been housed in the Orange Bowl until football season neared. The government released them from its detention centres but they had nowhere else to go.
