Low dam at Lot 10, Woolwich Twp.

Water in foreground, low dam in middle ground, trees in background. Roth notes "First dam built here by Valentine Ratz (suggested by Christian Stoltzfus in 1839) on the Conestogo River. It has been rebuilt several times. It was also used to run the mill in St. Jacobs until they ceased operation."

Farm buildings on Lot 5, Con. 3, South Easthope

Left side of photograph contains red equipment shed, center of photograph contains long white house, with red barn visible behind it. Silos are to the right of the barn. Roth notes "The one 1/2 story brick house was built by/for Daniel Schrag (after 1861). A "Doddyhaus" was added to the east end. The woodshed and summer kitchen at the west end were replaced with a breezeway, providing a cover to the basement and a garage. The barn was built in 1915 - in 1999 it has been greatly altered".

Three story brick building with lower portion of building built out of stone. Porch on front of building. Green roof with red gable ends containing two small windows. Roth notes "3-storey brick building erected by / for Peter Tschirhart 1850/51 hotel, residence, store, etc."

Bare field in foreground, gray barn on left of photo in middle ground, to right of barn very small white shed, to right of shed is a grove of trees. Just to the right of the trees and a little behind them is a white building. Roth notes "Christian Boshart 1835-1847 front 50 ac.; Michael Jantzi, 1847-1887 front; Michael Jantzi, 1855-1887 rear 150 ac.; Joseph Bast 1907-1915 E 50 ac. (Sold to Peter Litwiller); Peter Nafziger 1920-1950 W 150 ac.; sold to John Nafziger".

House is in centre of photograph, with brick section to left and stone section to right. Roth notes "Entrance facing north" and "Smith family 1854 - 1914; Peter S. Roth and estate 1914 - 1937; Arthur Roth 1937 - 1968; Levi and Beatrice Kuepfer 1968 - 1981; Den-Lee Farms 1981 -".

View of brick house from the front. Roth notes "Farm occupied by Nicholas Roth Sr and Anna Shantz 1836-1847, by Benedict and Catherine (Brenneman) Roth. Windows in either side, 2nd floor have been bricked in, at least one window at right on 1st floor has been bricked in. House built after 1861 by/for Benedict and Catherine (Brenneman) Roth.
