Against backdrop of large building with elaborate window. Women are wearing fancy dresses (light and dark), many with fancy hats. They are in two rows, the front row on chairs. Looks like the 1910s. Bald prairie landscape and sky on side. Photo is taken through wavy wire fence. Some women are holding flowers. Envelope says "Sommerfeld Girls, summer."

I was recently given the book"Mennonite Women in Canada:A History" The picture on the cover is from the Peter G Hamm collection. At a cousin reunion some of the ladies recognized most of those young women. This negative is in Tray 13 No.2
They are : standing l-r Suanna Kehler, Anna Kehler, Anna Hildebrand, Helena Hildebrand, Helena Kehler, Maria Wiebe, ?.
Seated:l-r ?, ? ,Helena Kehler, ?, Sara Kehler, Gertrude Wiebe
