History

  • In 1945 Sharon Mennonite Collegiate Institute was established under the leadership of Johannes Harder.
  • Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church temporarily combined the Bible School and the High School.
  • In 1947 a 13- classroom structure was built on Wilson Road. Grades seven, eight and thirteen were added.
  • In 1949, due to declining enrollment and building debts, the school closed.
  • In 1951 Sharon Mennonite Collegiate was established with 62 students and 3 teachers.
  • The school continued to function until 1969.
