This series consists predominantly of photographs of women and men immigrating to Canada from the Soviet Union, along with their relatives who had previously arrived in Canada. The photographs were taken at reunion events. One photograph of pupils of the Wernersdorf school is included.

Maria Deaf-Mute School (street view)

Black and white photo of the Maria School for the Deaf in Tiege, Molotschna Colony. It shows a large, imposing brick building. Small pillars are located at regular intervals along the fence which runs along the town walkway. Three prominent arched entrances make up part of this same fence. A number of deciduous trees are located just inside the fence in the front of the building and a row of evergreens is growing on the left hand side of the picture. Taken from P.M. Nikolaipol Zentralschule

This is a photo of a four room Central School at Nikolaipol. Built in 1905, it serves as a school to this very day. [HR 185]

Nikolaiyevka Zentralschule students and teachers

This is a photo of the secondary school at Nikolajevka, Ignatjevo Settlement, No. 5 in the 1914-1915 school year. At the front sits Toews, the teacher. To his right and to his left sit the Russian female teachers. The male teachers had been mobilized to serve in the army and these two young ladies served in their place. The photo illustrates how that there were very few Mennonite female teachers available at that time. [HR 210]

This is a photo of the Central School at Ohrloff, Molotschna. It is obvious that the builders of this house were not only concerned with the practical, but also with the aesthetic aspect. [HR 182]
