This is a photo of Nusrat Aziz sitting at a table, working on a wheatstraw picture. Aziz was one of the first six women to work at the Mirpur Wheatstraw centre that was started by MCC in 1975. Her ability to do "precise work has been the challenging model for others and her laughter and approachability have endeared her to her co-workers," says David Klassen of St Catherines, ON, artist and designer at the centre.
