He was an outstanding leader and administrator in Mennonite relief and colonization work in Russia, Canada and Europe. He worked in the Canadian Board of Colonization and laid the foundation of the MCC. He was the general director of MCC work in Europe. He oversaw the migration of over 10,00 Russian Mennonites .refugees. A full biography is found in the GAMEO database.
