History

Miriam was born in Filer, Idaho, to Charles and Bertha Sieber, and was married to Millard C. Lind on April 17, 1943, in Goshen. A graduate of Goshen College in 1942, Miriam was a member of the Goshen College Mennonite Church. Her greatest passion was the raising of her seven children and the nurturing of her grandchildren and many friendships. In addition, she had a life-long love for writing. For many years she authored the monthly columns Hill Journal and On the Corner in the Mennonite church periodical Christian Living, and she also published several books as well as numerous articles and poems. She was closely associated with the Association for the Disabled of Elkhart County (ADEC) and worked as an ADEC visitor, accompanying parents of newborn infants with disabilities through their child’s first year of life.
