Two photos (2nd one measures 17.5x12.5) show Carl Kauffman from Haven, Kansas supervising a special feeding program for the hungry patients who came to the Nha Trang Hospital where he served with MCC as as all-around handyman an medical assistant at the Nhatrang Evangelical Clinic. The refugees, men, women and children, stand around him waiting their turn to receive food. Carl died on Sept. 12, 1967, on his way to the US after a 3 year term with MCC in Hong Kong and Vietnam. This is a photo of three children in a camp for displaces persons in El Salvador. They cannot remember a time when their country was at peace. The U. S. government wants to send $60 million to buy more guns. Church leaders are calling for dialogue and negotiations between the government and the opposition forces.

This is a photo of a peasant woman and her children in front of their new adobe brick house in La Florida. As a result of the massacre in which her husband was killed she fled from the cooperative and was last seen in a displaced persons' camp in eastern El Salvador.
