Biographical history

Allan Siebert (1953-2016) was a journalist for non-profit organizations such as The Mennonite Reporter, Mennonite Brethren Herald, Christian Week, and communications director for MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates). He was born in St. Catharines, Ontario to Jim and Nita Siebert. He married Judy Kehler in 1974 and they had one child. Allan attended Canadian Mennonite Bible College in Winnipeg in the early 1980s and he was on the board of the Winnipeg Mennonite Elementary School (Bedson location) in 1981. In his adult life he lived in southern Ontario and Winnipeg. In the late 1970s and early 1980s Siebert worked on researching the Warman and District Concerned Citizens Group and their opposition to the development of Eldorado Mines’ proposed uranium refinery, about which Siebert wrote several articles in 1979 and 1980. His research was provided to Gail McConnell who wrote The Warman Story: The Refinery That Never Was.
