A group of young women called the "Servettes"

Caption in The Canadian Mennonite, November 9, 1962 (10-44-9) reads: "Servettes is the name of a group of about 15 young women in the United Mennonite church, Waterloo, Ont., which began as a fellowship group two years ago and since then has made a rather unique contribution to the church by helping spontaneously wherever help is needed including a wide variety of activities including library work, painting, and the traditional sewing and preparation of suppers."

This is a photo of twenty two civilian prisoners of war on Tobolsk, Siberia. Eduard Wehrmann is in the centre of the second row from the back. Other men on the photo include Bar, Heinze, Kluge, Kottas, Richier, Dorn, Kasper, Ungar, Hellemann, Ewert, Ornowsky, Fuhrmann, Zimmering, Fleschner, Warkentin, Schaefer, Siechmund, Fuhrmann, [Schighman?], [Satachatsky?].
Middle row, far right is Johan Fuhrmann.

Building the Church

The outer wall and window frames have all been completed. The 3 workers are putting the final touches on the peak of the roof. Facing the camera appears to be Peter J. Klassen.

Washing up

A man [Peter J. Klassen?] dries off his face using a towel just outside the house that is near the Herschel Ebenfeld Mennonite Church.

Building the Church

A worker (Peter J. Klassen) stands outside of the Herschel Ebenfeld Mennonite Church and cuts some more shingles using a handsaw and a guide to ensure that the shingles are of uniform thickness. Wooden siding has been put on parts of the building as it nears completion.
