This is the first Silberfeld/Schoenhorst combined public school located on Section 22 SE-1-1W. The teacherage seen in the back is the original private Silberfeld School that was moved to this location. The public school was in use from 1919 until the early 1950s.

Helena (Spenst) Dyck died of the flu in 1918. She was buried on her parents homestead of Section N.E. 16-1-1-W. Helena was married to the teacher in Silberfeld, Franz Dyck who also died of the flu 9 months after Helena's passing.
