Fehderau family wedding

This appears to be professional photograph of the Fehderau family together with others at a family wedding. Young Nicholas Fehderau stands in front of his sister, Liese Fehderau, at the far left of the photo. Other Fehderau children are likely in the same photo. Mother Marie Fehderau stands fifth from the left in the back row. Father Jacob Fehderau sits fourth from left in the middle row (with bowler felt hat).

From the Fehderau family

The collection contains photographs depicting aspects of Nicholas J. Fehderau's family's life in the city of Halbstadt (Ukraine) and on his family's farming estate up to 1924, when he immigrated to Canada.
The Nicholas J. Fehderau photo collection includes more than the 83 scanned images in this collection (see also NP152 for more photographs).
The collection documents the assumptions, motivation, vision, and everyday life of one Mennonite estate family, the Fehderau family.

Jakob Fehdrau family

This is a photo of the Jakob Fehdrau family, New Halbstadt. Fehdrau was an estate owner. During the Revolution their property, one son and two sons-in-law were destroyed. Jakob Dyck, leader in the mission among the Russians, was murdered and Dr. John Dyck was forced to go with the Whites, never to return. [HR 160]
