This fonds consists of photos taken by Edwin Brandt of people and places related to his relationship with Indigenous communities in Manitoba. First when he served as a conscientious objector during the Second World War in Island Lake (now Garden Hill) in Northern Manitoba, later in Loon Straits, "Native Camp" held at Camp Assinibioa near Winnipeg,, and the beginnings of Y.O.U. (Youth Opportunities Unlimited) in Winnipeg.

This photo shows a children's group at the Mennonite Pioneer Mission children's camp at Loon Straits, Manitoba. Edwin Brandt's son Loren writes " Camp was held on the yard of our temporary home while our new bungalow was being built. The woman is Marian Enns (later Marian Vincent)"
