No. 21 in a 2nd set of numbered photos from a tour of Berlin following the 6th Mennonite World Conference at Karlsruhe, Germany in 1957. Used in the CM 5-37-7. A food station at the Red Cross refugee home, Heim Dunant, where daily meals are prepared and dispatched for 5,000 refugees. Several men and a woman survey the containers at the back of the building. The photo is torn and the top part of it is adhered to the photo in 2010-14.484. No. 22 on C. J. Rempel's list is missing.

No. 14 the last one in this set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Used in CM 5-34-4. German leaders: l-r: Abr. Braun, conference sermon; Emil Haendeges ("ae" is used instead of the German umlaut), retired; Benjamin H. Unruh who delivered the address to the civic leaders at the banquet given by the city, prior to the conference to which 24 Mennonite leaders were invited. See also the group photo in 5-34-1 showing a large number of Canadian and US delegates. See 2010-14.457 for the beginning of this series.

Swalm of Duntroon, Ontario is in the pulpit delivering his message "Our Witness for Peace and Love in Missions, Relief and Social Service." An unidentified man using a translation receiver is seated to his right.

No. 1 in a 2nd set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Corny J. Rempel, a delegate to the conference, took photos and sent them with explanations to Frank H. Epp, editor of the CM. Rempel's explanations are included in the memos for each photo and a copy of them is included in this envelope. Following the photo explanations, Rempel tells Epp that he is also sending photos to "The Rundschau," a German language Mennonite newspaper. In No. 1, used in the CM 5-36-7, Dr. Fritz Kuiper of Amsterdam, Holland (left), and Dr. Walter Quiring of Rosthern converse in front of a building with columns (probably where the meetings were held?). Dr. Kuiper spoke on: "The Challenge of the world to the church." The series continues to 2010-14. 493. The photos are very brittle, some are fragmented and some are missing. Therefore, the photos are in plastic sleeves in the envelopes.

No.6 in a 2nd set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Dr. H. S. Bender, Chairman of the Mennonite World Conference Executive Committee, is on the rostrum speaking. Bishop E. J. Swalm is seated behind him as are several other men (perhaps members of the executive committee), some using translation receivers.

No. 27 in a 2nd set of numbered photos from a tour of Berlin following the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Used in the CM 5-36-7, neg. only. Entrance in the Russian zone and in the Treptower Park to an impressive memorial in honor of the 7,000 Russian soldiers who lost their lives in the conquest of Berlin and are buried here in a mass grave. The large entrance includes an arch and is flanked by flag poles.

No. 9 in a set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Some of C. J. Rempel's explanations here are not visible. The photo shows the entrance to the "Schwarzwaldhalle" where the conference delegates ate their meals. Under the roof is a sign "Mennoniten WeltKonferenz" (MWC). Many people are going through the entrance which is off the parking lot where the parked cars are of some interest. See also 2010-14.493. This photo is part of the series in 2010-14.457 to 469.

No. 8 in a set of numbered photos from the 6th Mennonite World Conference held in 1957 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Used in CM 5-34-4. Five of the deaconesses are shown at the Thomashof in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, a Mennonite centre of the influential South German Mennonite conference. C. J. Rempel calls the Thomashof, "the seat of the German Mennonites". A 2nd fragmented photo may be the building which served as an old people's home, vacation centre and headquarters for deaconess work of the Badischer Verband which Rempel mentions in his explanation for this photo.
