This is a photo of a man pointing at a corrugated iron shack. There are some children sitting in the shade of a low wall by a mud house. Residents in this village have resisted being "removed" far from their homes. The corrugated shacks were set up by people forced to leave their villages and were invited by residents of this village to set up homes here rather than go to the assigned resettlement area.

This is a photo of a Salvadoran refugee mother standing by a counter stacked with canned food.She is preparing food for malnourished children in a feeding centre near San Salvador. An inter-church food aid program, which has distributed MCC beef and other donated food, is helping 60,000 refugees.
