These papers document the work of a Mennonite missionary couple who served in India between 1936 and 1953. Samuel served as principal of the Dhamtari Christian Academy while Nellie taught English and home economics and worked with female evangelists.

This collection also contains a variety of administrative records created before 1936, including missionary expense reports, treasurer correspondence, and other miscellaneous correspondence, reports, and financial records.

Personal papers of an (old) Mennonite Church missionary who served in Argentina (1928-1947) and Puerto Rico (1953-1964).  Snyder also served as a pastor to (old) Mennonite Church congregations in Texas and Wisconsin.  Snyder's papers include correspondence, programs and ephemera pertaining to Mennonite religious life and institutions in Argentina and Puerto Rico.  A small amount of correspondence and miscellaneous records pertain to his pastorate in Texas.

Thirteen outgoing letters from Marie M. Moyer:  two addressed specifically to Melvin and and Verna Gingerich.  In her letters,  writes about her perceptions of the impact of Mennonite work in India, particularly her work with evangelical literature, and requests prayers and thanksgiving.  Her letters often summarize annually the highlights of Mennonite mission and relief work in India.

Outgoing correspondence and photographs of a Mennonite missionary and his family.  Correspondence consists of "form letters" to keep friends and families informed of their mission work in Kentucky.  The papers also include advertisements and other ephemera from "Wenger's Christian Supply" and "Wenger's Supply," a family business selling vitamins, nutritional supplements, and "the talking Bible."  An essay by Wayne Wenger, entitled "The Wearing or Non-Wearing of the Tie" is also found in these papers.

Rhoda and Ruth Ressler Papers 1889-2008

The papers contain a hodgepodge of information pertaining to Ruth and Rhoda Resslers' various stints in Japan as mission and relief workers. Materials include correspondence, activity reports, the newsletter of the Hokkaido Mennonite Fellowship, miscellaneous materials relating to Mennonite mission work in Japan, and financial records. The Resslers' papers also contain a number of photographs, scrapbooks, and a handful of slides. Researchers should be aware, however, that many of the images are not labeled. The collection holds a several audiocassettes as well: recorded lectures presented by the Resslers in Japan, an oral history interview with Rhoda and Ruth Ressler, and a multi-tape oral history with Rhoda Ressler. Also included is an 1889 statement on dress and prayer coverings, unrelated to Mennonite mission work in Japan.

Letter from a Mennonite missionary serving the Pikangikum Indian community north of Red Lake, Ontario.  Describes the missionary showing lantern slides of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ and playing records of testimonies, singing, and preaching "in the Indian language" to 40 Native Americans.
