Church at Steegen

This photo is of a church in Steegen (Poland). It was formerly a Protestant church but is now a Catholic church. The church has a tall spire with a flag at the very top. There is a clock on the face of the steeple. The front of the church is Tudor style. At either side of the church are trees. A path leads to the church.

The organ in the church at Steegen

This is a photo of the pipe organ in the church at Steegen. There are seven sets of ornate pipes topped with figurines of angels. The ceiling is painted with Biblical scenes. A model of a three-mast ship is suspended from the ceiling in front of the organ.

Church in Fürstenwerderfeld, Poland

This photo is of the last Mennonite church in Fürstenwerderfeld, Poland [also known as Fürstenwerder, Poland]. The church is now used as a granary/storehouse. It is an unpainted wooden structure with windows at various levels. Charlotte Wiebe is standing in front of the building. There are trees on the right side of the photo at the end of the building. Sugar beets are growing on the graves at the front of the photo.

Former Mennonite church of Petershagen, Molotschna

This photo is of the former Mennonite church in the village of Petershagen, Molotschna colony. The windows appear boarded up. In the foreground is a woman in a green field. In 1999, under direction of Frank and Nettie Dyck and financial support from Canadian donors, the church was renovated with new doors, windows, and roof installed. See note below.

Bethel Church, Mt. Lake, MN

This is a photo of the "Bethels" Church [as the photo is inscribed, but could be Bethel Mennonite Church?] in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. It shows a wooden structure with what appear to be additions on each end. A long platform runs along the side of the church. It is accessible by stairs from several directions. There are two sets of doors visible. There is a small covered area marking the main entrance. Ginger bread designs decorate the gables and the roof.

This photo is a postcard picture of the M.B. Church. The building is white with archways on the side. People are standing in the archways and one man is standing in the front of the building. Large trees are in the background.

A church building in the 1960s

This is a photograph of an unidentified North American church, probably taken during the early 1960s. It shows a large brick building with an overhang in front of the door. Long narrow windows with panes of colored glass flank the door and run along the side of the church. A small, darker building with arched (church style) windows is located very close beside it.

After church service at Mfila Parish

This photograph shows the congregation of the Mfila Parish after the church service. In 1990, Mfila Parish was one of the larger of Kinshasa's 25+ congregations. Mfila has a solid concrete structure and electricity, although 10 yards behind the camera was a deep ravine caused by erosion, which was threatening to swallow the church building.

The Elikia (Hope) congregation of Kinshasa

This is a photograph of a worship service in the temporary structure of the Elikia (Hope) congregation in Kinshasa, Zaire. The members were in the process of slowly saving money and bricks for a sanctuary. Meanwhile they met under a structure of bamboo poles and palm branches, which sheltered against the sun but not the rain. Here a 14-year-old boy leads a children's choir.

Ebenezer MB Church

This photo is of the Ebenezer MB Church congregation standing outside a 1 1/2 story church building. Infants to elderly people are posing for the photo. Various styles of dress can be seen. On the far right at least 8 cars are parked. A few out buildings can be seen in the background and the flat praire in the background. On the back "D.R. Klein - Meadow Lake Edenezer MB Church". Zion Mennonite Church - Winnipeg, MB

This is a photo of the Zion Mennonite Church in Winnipeg, corner of Alexander Avenue and Ellen Street. What is now The First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg began by renting, and later purchased, the Zion Reformed Church building on Alexander and Ellen shown here in 1938. They built their own church building on Notre Dame at Alverston in 1950, which was further expanded in 1958 and 1983.
