1) Letters of Heinrich J. Thiessen of Michailowka, Siberia writing to his siblings in Mountain Lake, U.S.A. He describes village life as he observed it.
2) John B Toews translated portions of some of the letters which were sent to him by Katherine Hooge.
3) Thiessen, Franz und Grete, written to Familie Isaak in 1926 in Rosthern Sask., 1 page

This subseries consists of the following;
1) Correspondence between Abraham A. Friesen, member of the Canadian Mennonite Board of Colonization, and Henry J. Willms. Some are handwritten and some are typed.
2) A table of contents of the letters and a brief description of each letter was produced by Helena, daughter of Abraham.A. Friesen

This sub series consists of letters from David Goertz to his family.
1) Photocopied letters are faint and hard to read. They are in the Gothic script. 1863 - Box 232

This sub series consists of an extensive correspondence between the father, Jacob W. Toews in Ohrloff, S. Russia and his daughters Susanna Toews and Agnes Toews and other family members with his sons Gerhard and William Toews in Leamington, Canada .The letters date from 1927 to 1938. The subject under discussion is mainly emigration, collectivization, starvation, the Five Year Plan, taxation, survival, abductions, arrests, funerals and church life in very difficult times. Part of the family were able to emigrate to Canada but some remained in the Soviet Union.

The file contains the following textual material:
1) Letters to John B. Toews from Olga Berg and Abram Berg who were ministering in Karaganda and relocated to Koeln Germany,
