This photo is of a Mennonite farmer in the Menno Colony sitting at the place where the milk of the dairy farmers of a certain village was gathered twice a day (called "Maltj-hüsje" in Plautdietsch, meaning milk lodge). From here, a truck would transport the milk to the dairy processing plant. In the early 2000s, these "milk lodges" were replaced by cooling tanks.
