This collection contains photos of the experiences of men who were conscientious objectors to war in Canada during the Second World War and were assigned to work in an Alternative Service program. The photos are organized into the following categories:
1-2 camp; 3-11 individuals; 12-25 groups; 26-32 camp life; 33-42 camp cooks; 43-50 vistors; 51-54 misc. Items 1 to 50 were taken in British Columbia.

This photo is of a forestry service reunion held at Springstein, MB (now Camp Assiniboia). They had served in such places as Anadol, Asow, Razin, Altagier, Krim, Alt-Berdjan, Wladimir, Neu-Berdjan, Schwarzwald, Iswara, and Ananjew. The photo was published in "Der Bote" July 19, 1966 (and possibly in the Mennonitische Rundschau) with a list of the men's names, where they worked and the years they worked in the Forestry service.
