The bulk of the collection consists of manuscripts of sermons delivered by Louis at the Butterfield and Bethany Mennonite Churches. He wrote them out long hand on half sheets of paper with the title, hymns sung, scripture passages, and date given. He gave a few sermons after he retired from the ministry, including some after moving to Reedley. The collection only has a very small quantity of personal papers, such as school and college report cards, and a few family letters, most from the last couple years of Louis’ and Agnetha’s lives. There are also a handful of personal items, .i e. paintings, scrapbooks, from a few of Louis’ sisters.
