According to "Descendants of Ohm Abraham Wiebe 1831-1991" p. 13, "This church building belonging to the Reinlander (Old Colony) congregation was dedicated at Chortitz, Man on Oct 21, 1881. It is one of the churches where Ohm Abraham Wiebe, his brother Elder Johann Wiebe, and their fellow ministers served their congregation every Sunday morning. On the picture we see Abraham's grandson, Abram III and his dog standing at the south entrance of the building. The picture was taken in 1953, during the time that he younger Abram was caretaker here. The church building was later moved to Steinbach, where it is today part of the Mennonite Village Museum.
Formerly described as :This is a photo of the Old Colony Mennonite Church building in Reinland, Manitoba. (N:617). It was used by the Reinlaender mennoniten Gemeinde until 1922 when they left for Mexico. Currently it is the Reinland community centre.
