Contains a letter written by Brunk, describing her work as a nurse with Mennonite Central Committee in Pusan, Korea. The scroll, presented to Brunk by the Korean Nursing Association of Pusan, features the Nightingale Pledge written in Korean. Also includes a journal from her experiences working as a "C.O. Girl" in the Hudson River State Hospital for the Insane in Poughkeepsie, NY, during the summer of 1945.

Alternative Service men enjoying a picnic

This photograph shows a group of 5 men, two women and 4 children, seated on the ground in the woods, enjoying a picnic. It was probably taken at the forestry camp where the men were in Alternative Service. The men are all dressed in their uniforms. This photograph can also be found in Mennonite Alternative Service in Russia by Lawrence Klippenstein and Jacob Dick on page 62 with the caption; "A picnic with visitors". No one is identified.

This photograph is of F. Driedger. He is wearing work clothes and is standing on a gravel road. Driedger is laughing at something that is being said to him. This photo was taken near the conscientious objector camp at Clear Lake, Riding Mountain National Park.

The last of the apple crop for the Forestry Service men.

This photograph shows 3 Alternative Service men in full uniform posed alongside a small pile of apples on the ground. A translation of the German note on the reverse: There will be no more apples, but lets hope by then we will have peace. It is high time or we will forget one another. In closing, hearty greetings from your loving brother, Johann. Greet J. Friesen and also any acquaintances who are there.
