Friendship quilt by a United Mennonite women's group

A quilt on display, possibly at a meeting of the Ontario Mennonite Women in Mission. This is a "friendship quilt" with embroidered names of women on each patch. A label attached to the quilt indicates it was made by a ladies' group of a United Mennonite Church, possibly Niagara United Mennonite, probably for one of its members. The last date visible on the quilt is 1975.

OWIM executive workshop at Erie View

A woman speaks in the sanctuary of Erie View church during an Ontario Mennonite Women in Mission executive meeting. The issue of integration between OWIM and other women's groups within the emerging Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada was discussed.

Betty Puricelli with children

Betty Puricelli, commissioned by the Conference of the United Mennonite Churches of Ontario to work with Latin American refugees in 1984, sits with a group of Hispanic children. Ontario Women in Mission supported her work. Photograph by Bill Bryson.
