Helene Toews, founder of the Ontario women's group

Helen Toews (left, in wheelchair) being presented a basket of fruit by Katie Dyck. The setting appears to be her room in a care home. She was the founder and first president of what became Ontario Mennonite Women in Mission.This presentation was possibly made in conjunction with a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Ontario Women in Mission at Niagara United Mennonite Church in 1972, or might have been a visit at Christmas.

Friendship quilt by a United Mennonite women's group

A quilt on display, possibly at a meeting of the Ontario Mennonite Women in Mission. This is a "friendship quilt" with embroidered names of women on each patch. A label attached to the quilt indicates it was made by a ladies' group of a United Mennonite Church, possibly Niagara United Mennonite, probably for one of its members. The last date visible on the quilt is 1975.
