Part of Harold Stauffer Bender Papers
H. S. Bender to Henry A. Fast (Acting Dean at Bethel College in Kansas), March 22, 1949: sending a letter and a report from Germany by Gustav Reimer; continues about some interactions among Bender, C. F. Klassen [Cornelius F. Klassen], Peter Dyck, Orie O. Miller, and Reimer, who had been secretary of the West Prussian Conference [West Prussian Mennonite Conference ?]. / But really writing about some decision or actions of someone named Vogt; Bender would be writing to P. C. Hiebert [Peter C. Hiebert] about these matters as well. / Fast knew, from the MCC Executive Committee meeting in Chicago that Bender was much concerned about developments in Uruguay [South America], and about the ineffectiveness of MCC to implement a plan of settlement there; glad that Reimer’s letter had some good news on that front; some financial details, including a loan to Mennonites in Uruguay.
