Abraham Dick was present at the hospital that day, but was standing outside the room in the honour guard. Written on back: "Jekaterinaslav Hospital for wounded. Czar Nicholas 1917/18. Dad was standing guard outside door."

Information from Lois Siemens indicates this is the farm of Peter and Katharina (Nickel) Siemens. Katharina’s parents, Aron Nickel and Maria (Barkman) Nickel, moved to Terek #4 in 1903.
Neighbours of Agatha and Abraham Dick use tractors to plow the Dick fields in fall 1938. Abraham was recuperating from a broken back and unable to work. The neighbours surprised the family by showing up in early November 1938 for a "plowing bee."
