This collection consists of the 95 files which Dr. Rempel selected from the St. Petersburg Archive related to Mennonites which he requested to have microfilmed in 1962. The St. Petersburg (known as Leningrad at the time) Archive holds the documents of the Russian Senate (later referred to as the Duma) for the period of 1789 to 1917.

World War I Correspondence and Subject Files: Elias L. Frey
Elias L. Frey was a prominent Ohio Mennonite Conference bishop and member of the Peace Problems Committee. His correspondence and subject files as a member of the committee comprise leaflets (including "Mennonites on Military Service," the statement of the Mennonite General Conference's position on military service, adopted August 29, 1917), materials regarding Mennonites' obligations to the government in purchasing liberty bonds, and general correspondence from the Peace Problems Committee.
