Village School - Fuerstenau

This photograph is of the village school building in Fuerstenau. This building was believed to have been built in the mid-nineteenth century. In 1921 the school was appropriated by revolutionary authorities for the purpose of converting it to a Russian school and its Mennonites students were sent elsewhere for their education. As of the writing of the book this building was used as a telephone building.
