Commission on Overseas Missions Photograph Collection

This COM collection consists of two parts. The first part consists of a slide show of of 32 color photographs of Walter Thielmann and Anny Thielmann working with Umsiedeler or Aussiedler in Niedergoersdorf - Flugplatz, Germany. The people live on a former military base where Walter and Anny lead worship services, Sunday School and Bible study programs. Also pictured are the people they work and live with. This was produced for the CMC annual sessions held in Calgary, Alberta. This comes with a script and an audio cassette #2360. Slides are numbered 580:1-32.
The 2nd part of the collection are images taken mainly by Peter Rempel, Europe director, COM, General Conference Mennonite Church, visiting the Mennonite Center in Moscow and churches in Siberia together with Walter Bergen and Don Loewen, both living in Moscow at the time. Digital image were created by Alf Redekopp. Digital images are numbered 580: 33-96.

Der Bote 1995 Photograph collection

These photos were used in the German language paper, Der Bote, in 1995. They are arranged chronologically by the publication date, volume and issue number, and stored in 48 separate brown envelopes.

Zaporozhe Archives (A.S. Tedeev) Collection

This collection contains records pertaining from at least 6 different fonds in the State Archive of the Zaporozhe Region. They include the Berdyansk Uezd Steppe Forestry Department (Fond 250), the Alexandrovsk Uezd Land Survey Commission (Fond 230), the Melitopol Uezd Statistical Bureau (Fond 255), the Berdyansk Uezd Land Survey Office (Found 263), the A.A. Koop Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Factory (Fond 158) and the Zaporozhe Okrug Executive Committee (Fond 316). The materials focus roughly on four themes – forestry, description of land and estate possessions, business correspondence and emigration.

People shown include Rick Mueller, Lisa Loeppky, Irma Fast Dueck, CMBC players drama troupe, Duff Warkentin.

Slide Presentation-CHM - Open your Eyes to the People

This slide show was produced by Women in Mission and the Commission on Home Ministries of the General Conference Mennonite Church. The Women in Mission provided funding so that 10 women could travel North America to see the involvements of the General Conference's work through Commission on Home Ministries. The photos for this presentation were provided by these ten women on the trip: Evaleen Bertsche, Earlene Clark, Norma Duerksen, Mary Litwiller, Nettie Neufeld, Holly Olfert, Evelyn Rempel, Shirley Ries, Jan Lisa Wilhelm, Martha Zimmerman. Script was written by Ardie S. Goering. CHM (Commission on Home Ministries) works with the Mennonite churches in North America in overcoming racial and cultural prejudices. It seeks to bring the vision of Christ's ministry to the people of the United States and Canada. CHM works to plant churches in specific cultural groups cross cultural fellowship women in mission Chicago, Washington, Arizona, Toronto, Winnipeg. The photos are illustrative in nature and show people of many different races in daycares, schools, churches, interacting with one another indoors and outdoors. -- Note: with this is a script and a audio cassette #2358.
