This collection also includes some materials from First Mennonite Church (Normal, Illinois) and Bloomington Mennonite Church (Normal, Illinois), which merged to become the Mennonite Church of Normal, Illinois.

Collection contains primarily correspondence between Arthur W. Nafziger and various WWII servicemen in both the Civilian Public Service and the military. Correspondence discusses a variety of topics such as the weather, work habits of servicemen, religion, attitudes towards Mennonites, and daily life.

Other materials include records of Hopedale Mennonite Church activities, including the establishment of Sunday School programs and the congregational views on WWII servicemen, and photocopies of German-language letters sent in the 1800s. Some notes and lists concerning Arthur W. Nafziger's touring at the Caterpillar factory and other local historical spots are also included.

A small set of personal papers consisting primarily of the diaries of a Mennonite bishop in Illinois.  The diaries provide brief daily entries recording the weather, select activities of the day, and sometimes scripture passages.  Of note in the 1919 diary are records of Nice's trips to California and Virginia.  Also included are two photographs and a photocopy of the memorandum book of Morrison Mennonite Church (also known as Mennonite Brick Church or Red Brick Church) in Morrison, Illinois.  The memorandum book served primarily as a record of congregational finances.

Fragmented correspondence and reports concerning Horst's Mennonite Central Committee service in Poland from 1948-1950.  Includes a thank you letter from the people of the town of Bullingen (Büllingen), correspondence regarding a Polish Mennonite pastor seeking assistance in the early 1950s and materials about MCC relief unit reunions.  Also present are two family photographs and several Christmas letters written in the 1960s, when J. Alton Horst pastored in Illinois.

Correspondence between John M.T. Miller and his father, Moses D. Miller. John was born and raised in Holmes County, Ohio, and moved to Bloomington, Illinois, in 1869 with his wife Gerta (Troyer) Miller. In 1877, they moved to Seward County, Nebraska, where they purchased land and helped to establish the East Fairview Amish Mennonite Church.

Made up of sixteen letters, the collection includes details about land sales and prices and the activities of Amish Mennonites from Holmes County, Ohio, and elsewhere who sought to profit from the acquisition and sale of land in Nebraska.
