The local Beachy Amish Mennonite Church, along with Amish Mennonite Aid and MCC, is the only group aiding refugees in this location.

This is a photo of a Salvadoran peasant standing in the ruins of his home. The army had burned it and others nearby out of suspicion that area residents sympathized with guerrilla opposition. Women, children and elderly died. "The Face of Change in Central America" is a new MCC study resource that focuses on the needs and sufferings of Central America's poor.
