This collection includes the correspondence, minutes, reports, and questionnaires of the Mennonite Board of Missions Ad Hoc Committee Elkhart Hospital Project. This committee investigated the possibility of creating a Mennonite hospital in Elkhart, Indiana in the 1940's.

Daniel H. Coffman served as a deacon at Prairie Street Mennonite Church (1893-1899), Olive Mennonite Church (1899-1904), and Clinton Brick Mennonite Church (1904 - 1941). This collection consists primarily of Coffman's correspondence to his brother and sister in Virginia as well as his daughter in Indiana, and contains information regarding church conflicts from 1898 to 1903.  Also in this collection are histories of the Daniel H. Coffman family and the Samuel H. Eldridge family, as well as a photograph of the Eldridge family circa 1890.

The Indiana-Michigan Conference Mission Board not only operated a number of domestic mission stations in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky, but also supported the work of missionaries abroad.  In 1970, the mission board was dissolved and replaced by a mission committee.  These records are divided into several series.

The papers of Vernon and Evangeline Matthies Neuschwander primarily document relief and service work to Russian Mennonite refugees after World War II.  Materials include correspondence, poems, testimonies, and songs by Russian Mennonite refugees, reports and correspondence pertaining to Mennonite Central Committee relief work in the Netherlands and Paraguay, a diary kept by Evangeline Matthies Neuschwander during her Europen relief work, correspondence between Vernon and Evangeline Matthies Neuschwander, and a well-labeled photograph album documenting Evangeline Matthies Neuschwander's relief and service work.  Other materials include records of Vernon Neuschwander's Civilian Public Service work, family and genealogical materials, Evangeline's writing and reminiscences, and miscellaneous materials.

The richest documentation in this small collection consists of a handwritten history of the Alumni Association of Goshen College and Elkhart Institute (1908), in which she provides statistics about the alumni and profiles a number of graduates.  Also included in the collection are a number of programs and ephemera from Goshen College commencement ceremonies and local Mennonite church events.

Records of a small Mennonite congregation founded as an Olive Mennonite Church church plant in 1950.  These records are divided into the following series:

This collection contains information about Rhea B. Yoder (1898-1992), a teacher in the Midwest and at Woodstock, Northern India. In the collection there are materials from her schooling, her college speeches, journals from her time in India, and recollections of her upbringing. There is also a photograph album containing pictures from her childhood and time at Goshen. Her speeches at Goshen College provide an example of an individual on the liberal side of the (old) Mennonite church schism that led to the closing of Goshen College in 1923-1924.

The collection primarily consists of a small booklet dated 1880 and authored by David Sherk, a Mennonite Church minister in Ontario, regarding the church controversy surrounding Bishop Jacob Wisler's conservative views. In addition, a fragment of a letter written by David Sherk, and a transcribed and a translated copy of the booklet are included.

Personal and pastoral papers of an (old) Mennonite Church pastor who served congregations in Indiana, worked as an interim pastor, and later became an overseer for the Indiana-Michigan Conference.  Materials include correspondence and subject files about his pastorates, congregations he served or consulted for, workshops and and publications, and miscellaneous topics.

This set of records consists primarily of bulletins documenting the order of worship and congregational activities.  Other materials include newsletters (1995-2003), a pictorial directory and history of the congregaion (1980), and information on Richard Yoder's ordination service in 1957.

Papers of a Goshen Academy alumna (1922), long-time member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church (Elkhart, Ind.), and missionary to Dhamtari, India later in life.  Contains a remarkable run of diaries, nearly unbroken, from 1910 to 1989, in which Smucker provides brief descriptions of her daily activities.  Also includes scrapbooks, postcard albums, her father's autograph book, and miscellaneous materials.

Photographs associated with a regional conference of the (old) Mennonite Church. Comprises images of conference leaders, conference events, ministers credentialed by the conference, and church buildings of congregations belonging to the conference.  Materials include photographic prints, slides, and negatives. Researchers should note that the collection contains the prints of images published in the conference newsletterThe Gospel Evangel.

Records documenting the annual food and crafts sale and auction in Goshen, Ind. held as a fundraiser for Mennonite Central Committee. These records are divided into three series:

Personal papers of a Mennonite couple engaged in peace activism in Northern Indiana in the late 20th century.  Materials include records pertaining to the Sanctuary Movement in Elkhart County (particularly the participation of Hively Avenue Mennonite Church and Southside Fellowship), information about protests and civil disobedience organized by the Pledge of Resistance (South Bend, Ind.), correspondence to congressional representatives, and miscellaneous Mennonite peace theology materials.
