A small set of personal papers created by a Mennonite minister in Osborne County, Kansas and Peabody, Kansas.  Includes an account book belonging to Samuel Winey, notes on scripture references by topic and short essays and sermons, three diaries, spanning 1884 to 1895, and miscellaneous materials.

Diary 1897-1899, both original and transcription by Ray Regier.

In 1993 Ray Regier had plans to bring more papers in, but that didn't happen.

It's not clear that all the items in here come from Jacob H. Richert. It also could be that more than one Jacob Richert or J. H. Richert is represented by the materials.

Neuer und Alter Kunst- und Jugend-Kalender Auf das 1770ste Jahr Christi... (Dantzig: E. Gewerk, Thom. Joh. Schreiber, [1770]); handwritten notes in it that look like a preaching schedule for the Danzig Mennonite congregation (does this belong to the Richert papers or is it just mixed in by accident?) (should this be cataloged in OCLC sometime?)

This small set of papers consists of a notebook and a copy of Heatwole's book, Gems of Thought for Memory's Casket.  The notebook appears to have served a number of purposes, containing what appears to be information about financial accounts, anecdotes and scriptures, addresses, and miscellaneous notes.  The book is notable because the text block was inserted upside-down when bound.

Several volumes of the almanac Germania-Kalender used as a diary. These volumes apparently belonged to Johann M. Klassen (1846-1918), based on the mention of his 60th birthday in the 1906 volume, and various other names of family members mentioned in various places, and the connections to Hamilton County and Syracuse, Kansas. The 1906 volume has the most extensive notes and diary entries.

These came from Walter and Anna Thiesen of Newton, but they must have gotten them at an auction or garage sale, since the Klassens don’t seem to be closely related to them.

Correspondence with family members 1915-1918. English translations of most or all of the letters are included.

Contains some financial papers, and a handwritten family register or church record book (both original and photocopy) which covers many Swiss Volhynian families, not just his own family. Not clear whether this is some kind of congregational record book or his own personal compilation.

Not entirely clear what parts of this belonged to Edward Haury and what parts belonged to his Schmidt cousins, especially Gerhard E. Schmidt. Includes correspondence, tourism souvenirs from Europe, photos, school notebooks and exercises and souvenirs, autograph book of G. E. Schmidt, books.

Includes Bethel photo album, correspondence, print ephemera related mostly to the Mennonite deaconess movement and especially to the deaconess hospital at American Falls, Idaho. Also an extensive list of books owned by Franzen. 2012 accrual includes music and poetry for school programs, print ephemera for Marion County schools, other school papers, photos.
