Caption in album reads: "Pictures of C.O. camp near Chalk River, Ont.: Hose Tower - 75 feet." Hose drying tower in foreground; water tower in background. Fire hoses were hung from the tower to be dried after use.
Photo album caption: "Frau Blimke ist die Küchenmutter, von ihr kommt uns das gute Futter." (Mrs. Blimke is the kitchen mother; from her comes good food.) Mr. Blimke and unidentified conscientious objector assistants.
Photo album caption: "Sie scheut die Mühe nicht am Herde, damit's im Magen wohlig werde. So sprechen all die da assen: Das muss man der Frau Blimke lassen, Sie weiss für einen schiefen Magen, Stets grad das Richtige aufzutragen!" (homage to Mrs. Blimke's cooking.) This is a photo of the dining hall at the camp.
