Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference fonds

  • CA MHC EMMC
  • Fonds
  • 1936-2018

This fonds consists of a series of record transfers from the conference office. Each deposit has files or material that is grouped under various headings that were used for administrative purposes. Some of the materials were accumulated by specific church leaders. Included were records of conference conventions, ministers meetings, and board meetings of various program areas such as Christian Education and Publication Board and the Mission Board. The conference office also acquired records of the Alymer Bible School which they founded and supported since 1976 and records from congregations that were closed. The research files of Jack Hoeppner who wrote the conference history in 1987 were also deposited in one of these transfers. Each deposit has been treated as a separate series with sub-series.

Janis Thiessen fonds

  • CA MHC PP
  • Fonds
  • 1996-2014

This fonds contains oral interviews gathered on the subject of labour history from the view of Mennonite business owners and Mennonite employees and well as the history of Westgate Mennonite Collegiate in Winnipeg. The workers were selected from different gender and social classes. The content formed the basis for Thiessen's thesis on labour history of Russian Mennonites, a book on unions, and history of the private Mennonite high school, Westgate.

Epp: House of Heinrich collection

  • CA MHC PP
  • Collection
  • 1890-2010

This collection contains the correspondence created and photographs collected by Anna Epp Ens in conjunction with a number of Epp family reunions and the publications associated with this family.

In 1975 the descendants of Heinrich Epp (1811-1863) met at the International Peace Gardens and Camp Koinonia south of Boissevain, Manitoba. Out of this gathering grew the request that a book be compiled and published. Anna Epp Ens took up the task supported by a book committee, which led to the publication of the book "The House of Heinrich: The Story of Heinrich Epp..."

The collection also includes files related to publishing a newsletter and organizing subsequent reunions.

In 2010 the original genealogical data published in the book was updated and distributed on a CD ROM using the shareware program, Brother's Keeper, and the original book was scanned and made available in a pdf format. These digital files are also part of this collection.
