The men are resting each with their hoe in hand. Three men have created a human pyramid by having one man stand on the shoulders of the other two.
The inscription on the reverse reads "Zur Erinnerung an deine Kollegen & Mitarbeitern" (in memory of your colleague and co-worker).

Mr. And Mrs. Peter Schroeder are sitting on chairs beside a small table. On the table is a plant and a window is behind the table. It is unsure if this is taken inside or outside the house. Peter Schroeder was born 29 July, 1861, Osterwick Mrs. Helena Schroeder nee Vogt was born 26. August 1868. Helena is the daughter of Peter Vogt, b. 8 March 1839, the son of Peter Vogt b. 3 Aug 1797.
