The meeting is taking place outside in a rock-strewn area among buildings in Napaliran, a town on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao. These people have left their countryside homes in the province of Misamis Oriental because of fighting between the rebel New people's Army and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
