Silberfeld Boys

This is a photo of only the boys attending the Silberfeld School. The picture was taken outside of the school building. It seems the sun was quite bright that day as many of the boys are either squinting their eyes or looking away from the camera.

This is the first Silberfeld/Schoenhorst combined public school located on Section 22 SE-1-1W. The teacherage seen in the back is the original private Silberfeld School that was moved to this location. The public school was in use from 1919 until the early 1950s.

Hymn text slide

Slide with hymn text and a forest scene produced by the United Church Publishing House in Toronto. Slide was likely used in informal church services or youth events at Stirling Avenue. The text is the third verse of "Tell me the old, old story."

Loading truck with cardboard

A man, possibly Maurice Plummer, loads cardboard onto the back of a truck. Behind him is a shed in which a pile of cardboard can be seen. This is possibly the horse shed, no longer extant, behind Stirling Avenue. The cardboard was likely collected by the "Busy Bees," a Stirling junior youth group doing odd jobs for the Crusaders program, for recycling.

Congregation at Sirko, Basma

A large group gathered outside in a village setting. A label on the photograph reads "Congregation at Sirko, Basma." This is likely related to the work of missionaries Lillian and Cyril Forth, with the Sudan Interior Mission. The Stirling Avenue congregation were supporters of the Forths.
