Photocopies of family correspondence of a Mennonite bishop in Ontario. Full inventory may be found on the Web site of the Mennonite Heritage Center, which owns the originals.
This small set of papers consists of a notebook and a copy of Heatwole's book, Gems of Thought for Memory's Casket. The notebook appears to have served a number of purposes, containing what appears to be information about financial accounts, anecdotes and scriptures, addresses, and miscellaneous notes. The book is notable because the text block was inserted upside-down when bound.
A small collection of family records: Samuel S. and Emma Ganger Leatherman's marriage certificate and Yellow Creek Union Cemetery Association membership certificates.
Miscellaneous documents accumulated by Harry Symensma, a Mennonite immigrant from Balk (Friesland, Netherlands) and member of the Mennonite (Dunkard) church in Union Township (presumably Elkhart County), Indiana, and his son, Henry Symensma, of New Paris, Indiana. Materials include property tax and other reciepts, real estate assessments, a letter from John F. Funk offering condolences to Henry Symensma, and Dutch militia documents.
Consists entirely of photocopies made by or for Adolf J. Krehbiel when he was working on his biography of Jacob S. Krehbiel (his father?). It looks like most or all of the copies came from the General Conference Board of Missions files here. A few items have been translated into English, probably by Hilda Ediger Voth, who worked at the MLA at the time.
There is also a copy of The J. S. Krehbiel Story (1982).
