Minutes of the Seminary Council, an administrative body charged with recruiting students and money for the seminary, recommending tuition fees and faculty salaries, and improving curriculum, instruction, and services.  These records also include documents pertaining to the formation of the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, including initial recommendations for its location, the 1958 memorandum of agreement, and records of the joint coordinating committee.

Includes two Bibles, one German and one English. Both in poor condition. The German one contains family information. Also several photographs, some related to Bethel College and Tabor Mennonite Church.

A small set of minutes and correspondence from a committee charged with developing ways to coordinate secondary, collegiate, and Bible college educational initiatives across the denomination.  This committee operated under the authority of the Mennonite General Conference and its records appear to have been placed with those of the Mennonite Board of Education for the convenience of researchers.

A small set of correspondence, minutes, and reports pertaining to the revision of the constitution of the Mennonite Board of Education.  The revision was proposed to address the need of local governing boards for the various Mennonite colleges and schools.

The collection consists of a paper written by James O. Lehman entitled "The Building of Sonnberg's Second Church House in the 1860's" which includes a poem written by Ulrich Welty.

This collection includes historical records, correspondence, project reports, church bulletins, etc..

Tapes of interview with Helen Janzen Hirschler conducted by Leland and Bertha Harder and Mariam Penner Schmidt, Aug. 21, 1985, about her early life in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, her student years at Bethel College, and later life in Emporia. (Not clear if there was just one interview or a series of them. There are 3 tapes. All have been copied to DVD.)

Reports, correspondence, and subject files comprise the bulk of the records of the recording secretary of the Mennonite Board of Education.  Secretaries of the Mennonite Board of Education include S. F. Coffman (1925-1939), C. F. Yake (1939-1949), J. Forrest Kanagy (1949-1969), and Harvey W. Baumann (1969-1972).  Researchers should note that there are relatively few records older than 1962.

A small set of records documenting building management and the office culture of the Mennonite Board of Missions.  Materials include minutes of the social committee, staff council, and support staff meetings, as well as office manuals and a slide set entitled "Introducing the Mennonite Offices."  These records also contain information regarding properties own and rented by the Mennonite Board of Missions in Elkhart for administrative purposes, including 500 S. Main St. (Greencroft) and 1711 Prairie Street.

Records of a department of the Mennonite Board of Missions that worked to strengthen and support racial and ethnic minority congregations, to assist the church in relating to minority communities, to serve as liaison between militant groups and the church, and to help the church understand and practice the radical discipleship of Jesus Christ. Materials include council minutes and publications, photographs, and correspondence and subject files of minority council leaders.

This collection consists of assorted groups of photographs related to Pacific Northwest Mennonite Conference activities and events.
