The files in this series include records of the Kleine Gemeinde Waisenamt, the EMC Hilfsverein, and Estates Committee. The primary purpose of these entities was to fulfill the biblical admonition to care its members especially for orphans and widows (Waisenamt=Orphans Office). Its role expanded over time. It looked afer the administration of the estates of orphans and widows, ensuring inheritance distribution according to accepted rules. The Kleine Gemeinde Waisenamt dissolved sometime in the 1950s. The Hilfsverein begun in 1929 offered loans to those who had no means to begin farming. The Estates committee helped with the inheritance practises and settling of estates. The functions of these various entities were eventually all under the EMC Board of Trustees, except for the ones that were done by organizations not under church control, such as the credit unions, banks and trust companies.

This series includes the records of the former Trustee Committee and the Board of Finance.

This series includes minutes, reports, correspondence, records from history symposiums sponsored by the Board of Education, records pertaining to the ministers' study fund and the student assistance, and some published materials. There are materials related to the denominations' official periodicals, the Familienfreund and The Messenger.

The richest source of information in this series are Marian Hostetler's personal letters sent while she was serving in Algeria under Mennonite Central Committee in the 1960s.  The letters contain interesting observations on political and social conditions in Algeria, as well as information about Hostetler's relief work.  Also of particular note in this series is a work of graphic non-fiction by Hostetler entitled, "Un Aperçu de la Vie du Prophète William Wadé Harris."  Other materials in this series include unit and alumni newsletters from the MCC Algeria Unit and the newsletter of the Mennonite Voluntary Service Unit in Gulfport, Miss.

This series consists of manuscripts that writers submitted for Reimer’s thoughtful response and critique, they generated, as well as correspondence from them and a publisher, and Al’s comments about some of the manuscripts. (The few manuscripts in Reimer’s original collection that did not touch on Mennonite history or topics or were incomplete were not retained.)

This series consists of materials generated by Al Reimer and individuals associated with the tours he led.

This series consists of materials that detail Al’s participation in drama, choirs, opera, and film reviews and are generated by him and individuals connected to these associations.

Location: volume 6668, files 1-11; files 5-8 have been left intact and organized the way Al Reimer left them; he “was a founding board member of the Manitoba Opera Association”, (according to the Global Anabaptist Mennonite Encyclopedia Online (GAMEO)). The contents include Al Reimer’s notes, articles, board meeting agendas and minutes, reports, reviews, and so on. After those 4, 3 files contain unorganized sets of slides of scenes from operas, in Reimer’s collection.
