Family register removed from Bible.  Also Peter Albrecht's (Peter Albright's) naturalization declaration from Putnam County, Illinois.

This small collection was created by Peter Yoder, the grandfather or Walter E. Yoder,  THe account book provides a record of the settling of family estates, sales of goods, loans, and monetary transactions performed on behalf of others.  The remedy book contains instructions for treating various human and animal maladies as well as recipes for tanning leather, making cement, etc.

These papers consist of six series:

The collection includes a miscellaneous assortment of funeral announcements, Sunday School materials, a musical score and a photograph collected for scrapbooks by Perry T. Yoder who was a resident of the Rittman Old People's Home in Rittman, Ohio.

An "Erb-Schrift" providing dates of birth and death, when applicable, for the wives and descendants of Christian Yoder (1790-1846). A transcription of this hand-written document is available. Additionally, this collection includes a letter written in 1845 from Christian Yoder (1790-1846) to his son, also named Christian Yoder regarding the state of the Amish Church.

Papers of a leader of the Western District Amish Mennonite Conference, pastor of the Sugar Creek (Iowa) congregation of the (old) Mennonite Church, early trustee of the Mennonite Board of Missions, and father of C. L. Graber and J. D. Graber.  These materials are divided into two series:

(1) Correspondence, 1875-1941

(2) Miscellaneous, 1845-1960

A small set of papers of an Amish Mennonite bishop in  Wayne County, Ohio, consisting largely of incoming correspondence.

A typed transcription of a letter describing the Baumans' trip from Ontario, Canada to their home in Breckneck Township, Pennsylvania in 1846 and the condition of their crops and the weather upon their arrival.  Five different copies of the transcript are present.

A small collection including photographs of the Peter Smith family (including Christian Smith, Peter Smith, and Mary Smith Oyer) and an account book apparently kept by Peter Smith.

Photographs and postcards of members of the Yoder family, the Shank family, Hubbard, Ore., Nampa, Id, and Wooster, Ohio.  Most notable are the photographs and postcards of Charles and Crissie Yoder Shank, who served as Mennonite missionaries to India.  Also includes photogras of Anna V. Yoder and Vesta Yoder Miller, among others.

A small set of personal papers created by a Mennonite minister in Osborne County, Kansas and Peabody, Kansas.  Includes an account book belonging to Samuel Winey, notes on scripture references by topic and short essays and sermons, three diaries, spanning 1884 to 1895, and miscellaneous materials.

A ledger book of sermons written by a minister and bishop of Partridge Mennonite Church (Metamora, Ill.).  Contains six funeral sermons, a sermons about marriage, a sermon about baptism, and a number of sermons on specific scriptures.  Scattered diary entries may also be found in the ledger book.  The collection includes a preservation photocopy of the ledger book, a German transcription, and an English translation of the sermons.  Also includes an undated manuscript assumed to be Esch's.

A letter from J. H. Oberholtzer to unnamed German "beloved brethren and companions in the faith of Jesus" regarding his assessment of Mennonite church life in the United States.  The letter was written 16 months after the Franconia schism of 1847.

The original letter is in German script.  Transcriptions into modern German and an English translation accompany the original letter.

Included is a photocopy of a letter by Benjamin Eby dated October 17, 1849 and 4 transcripts and translations of additional letters by Benjamin Eby from 1851 to 1858 as used in the October, 1967 issue of the Mennonite Historical Bulletin.
