Four generations of John R. and Anna (Reimer) Toews family. John was the son of Peter Toews 1839 from Kleefeld, Russia and Elizabeth Reimer. Anna was the daughter of K. W. Reimer and Maria Brandt. John R. was in the lumber business and also farmed. In later years he was the administrator of the Home for the Aged in Steinbach.

Helena Sawatzky was born 1840 (1846?) daughter of Peter Sawatzky. Frank (1842)s grandparents were Peter Sawatzky b. 4 Jul 1760 and Helena Sawatzky.

Five generations of Johann and Agata (Rempel) Schwarz family.Johann was born in 1826 in the Old Colony in Russia. Later he moved to the Bergthaler Colony . They had 12 children, 3 of whom died in infancy.

Five generations of Gerhard and Margaretha (Penner) Schroeder family. Gerhard's father was Johann Schroeder b. 1807. He lived in the old Colony in Russia and later in the Bergthaler Colony. Johann was married 3 times; 1. Justina Schellenberg, 2. Maria Schellenberg,, 3. Maria Dyck. Gerhard 's mother was Maria Schellenberg. Gerhard married in 1867 to Anna Harder. His second marriage was to Margaretha Penner. Gerhard Schoreder was a Municipal Reeve. He lived in Eigenhof (Chortitz) East Reserve.

Five generations of Abram S. and Maria (Sawatzky) Rempel family. Abram S.was the second youngest son of John Rempel 1830 and Margaret Sawatzky 1833. (R-59) He came to Canada with his parents at the age of 3. His wife was already born in Canada. They farmed in Edenthal and Gnadenfeld, West Reserve.

Reimer's grandfather was Abram Reimer (1808-1892), one of the sons of the founder of the Kleingemeinde Mennonite Church. Abram's son Klaas, was married 3 times and had 25 children. The Reimer family settled in Steinbach. His son Heinrich had just passed his 10th birthday when the migration to Canada took place. These photos pertain to this Heinrich ( b. 17 Jan 1864, d. 27 May 1941) and married to Anna Wiebe (b. 7 Apr 1866, d. 11 Sep 1932).

Three generations of Abram R. and Susanna Penner family. Peter Penner, 1816-1884, was the only one of his family who came to America in 1874. He was married 3 times in Russia and twice in Canada and had 25 children. His son Abram R. Penner, was born in 1847. He and his wife Margaretha Reimer had 10 children. The oldest son, also an Abram R. Penner, b. 1874, is the first generation in this set.

Five generations of Johan and Elizabeth (Dyck) Neustaedter family. Johan was born 4 April 1853. His wife Elizabeth Dyck was born 5 Feb 1853. She was the daughter of Wilhelm Dyck and Elizabeth Friesen. They were married 11 Nov 1871 and resided in Chortitza , near Winkler MB. They came from Russia in 1874.
